Европска мрежа за обуку у правосуђу

Европска мрежа за едукацију судија (ЕЈТН) је главна платформа и промотер за обуку и размену знања о европском правосуђу. ЕЈТН заступа интересе више од 120.000 европских судија, тужилаца и судских тренера широм Европе.
Мрежа је формирана 2000. године. Области ангажовања ЕЈТН-а укључују:
- Право ЕУ,
- Грађанско,
- Кривично и привредно права,
- Као и обуке у домену лингвистичких и социјалних вештиина.
Визија ЕЈТН-а је да помогне и подстакне заједничке правне и судске европске културе.
ЕЈТН развија стандарде и програме обуке, координира размене и програме обуке у правосуђу, шири стручност и промовише сарадњу између правосудних институција ЕУ које се баве обукама судија и тужилаца.

Европска мрежа за едукацију судија (ЕЈТН) је покренула нову серију вебинара у формату: 1 тема, 1 стручњак, 1 сат. Вебинари ће обухватити теме из области грађанског права, кривичног права и људских права и основних слобода, а одржаће се 19. новембра, 3. децембра и 17. децембра 2020. године. Speaker: Dr. Mariana Todorova, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

Content: The presented webinar covers the very interesting aspects of use of artificial intelligence and its impact in the work of the judicial authorities of the European countries in criminal proceedings.
The Speaker, Dr. Mariana Todorova, is a futurist and researcher in the field of future studies and strategic planning, author of the book: “Artificial Intelligence. A Brief History of Development and Ethical Aspects”. She will introduce the differences between narrow, general and super AI and will discuss the current AI implementation of crime prevention, investigation and punishment. Mariana Todorova will also attempt to draw some future trends and make a forecast in this filed and will debate some ethical aspects of the topic.

Please join the National Institute of Justice of Bulgaria for the international 1-hour webinar “Criminals Taking Advantage of COVID-19.” Ms. Jessica Kim, the U.S. Department of Justice’s regional Resident Legal Advisor for Bulgaria and Romania, will provide updates on global fraud trends by criminals who are exploiting the pandemic situation for their own criminal purposes, including government program fraud, healthcare and consumer fraud, and cyber-enabled fraud.
The webinar is particularly useful for judges and prosecutors from the EU Member States, Western Balkan countries and from the Eastern European Partnership countries, involved in economic and financial investigations and fraud cases. Representatives of law enforcement are also welcome to join. The webinar is held in English and is free of charge.
The Speaker
Ms. Jessica Kim is the U.S. Department of Justice’s regional Resident Legal Advisor for Bulgaria and Romania.
Ms. Kim has been an Assistant United States Attorney (federal prosecutor) with the U.S. Department of Justice since 2014. As head of cybercrimes for her district, her practice is focused on prosecuting white collar crimes, including public corruption, investment fraud, corporate fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and tax fraud. Since 2014, she has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Ohio State University teaching Appellate Advocacy and White Collar Crime.

Upholding the Rule of Law in practice

The Webinar aims to present European and international standards of the Rule of Law, to address aspects of the rule of law as reflected in the CJEU and ECtHR case law and discuss and identify the essential components of the rule of law from the perspective of both judges and prosecutors.
Professor Paul Craig and Professor Laurent Pech will apply themselves to the subject in order to provide the participants with a basis for critical judicial analysis.
The webinar will consist of two parts. First, the theoretic/academic background of the Rule of Law and the hard and soft law instruments will be articulated. The second part will focus on the case law of the CJEU and the ECtHR on the rule of law. Both sessions will be followed by a Q&A session and an open discussion where judges and prosecutors will be invited to share their thoughts and national perspectives on the subject.
